Volunteer drivers needed at The Terraces

Right now, The Terraces at MapleCreek is seeking volunteer drivers for its mini-van. These drivers must be able to assist residents in and out of the vehicle and be capable of managing people in wheelchairs or using walkers.

Bret Hoxworth, resident resource coordinator for The Terraces, said, “The program is so new that we will be very happy to have drivers sign up for any periods of the day – mornings, afternoons or evenings – and any days of the week. With enough volunteer drivers, our residents will be able to get a ride to medical appointments, go to the mall, or go out with fellow Terraces residents to a restaurant or other area destination.”

We want to build a volunteer driver pool big enough to cover for each other in case of conflicts or illness. Each prospective volunteer must undergo a criminal background check, physical exam, back fitness test, drug test and TB test – all at no charge to the volunteer.
